Södervärnskolan is an elementary school in southern Visby serving students in grades 4-9. The school currently has approximately 620 students, with 150 in grades 4-6 and the remainder in grades 7-9. The school also has an after-school program. Södervärnskolan actively works to establish a strong learning environment by creating positive relationships so that students feel comfortable and secure. Teaching is based on individual student needs and abilities, developed within a group setting, resulting in strong collaboration skills and social competence. For students to learn effectively, teachers must identify the next steps in their development. This gives students a target to work toward and clear understanding of how to reach it. The school uses computers as digital tools and Unikum is the learning platform. The school has a librarian, café, and social educators to provide extra security for students. Follow Södervärnskolan on Instagram. Your Responsibilities You will work as a Wood and Metal Crafts teacher in our fantastic team at Södervärnskolan, joining us on a developmental journey! You will teach grades 4-9 and serve as mentor and class coordinator for a middle school class alongside a colleague. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction based on student needs, documenting student learning progress, and working with other teachers to develop the subject area and school's activities. You will be part of a team jointly responsible for students' academic and social development. About You We seek a candidate with a subject teacher degree in Wood and Metal Crafts and certification to teach grades 4-9. We consider it a merit if you have prior experience in teaching and educational work, and specialized knowledge in wood and metal crafts. You are a personally mature and self-directed teacher with strong collaboration skills. You are flexible in your approach and have the pedagogical insight needed to guide students.
