F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala Air Base. The wing is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace 24/7, 365 days a year, and leads the Swedish Air Force's fighter aircraft in the air. About the Unit 163rd Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, Garrison Company, and shortly also the Training Company, which together create the conditions for assigned units to focus on solving their main tasks. The battalion's role and tasks are developing rapidly to meet the new tasks and challenges facing Sweden and the Armed Forces. The Garrison Company is responsible for garrison coordination at Uppsala garrison. The company includes the garrison's offices and archives, sports service, military working dog service, operations service including training, specialists in various fields of expertise, administrators, and custodians. Main Responsibilities As a Military Working Dog Officer, you will have overall responsibility for the military working dog service within the garrison and thereby be the coordinating and planning function. This includes registration with relevant authorities related to dogs and animal health to ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, and governing documents. You will also plan and be responsible for dog production and continuously compile the medical status related to the dog population for reporting of breeding results. Examples of work tasks: Represent the organizational unit regarding military working dog matters to the Armed Forces' military working dog unit and other external actors (other units, authorities, and FFO) Method development, coordination, and further training in military working dog service for units within the organization Coordinate method development related to military working dog service and the units' other operations Handle emerging tasks and reports within the military working dog service area Handle and update local military working dog instructions Plan and coordinate preliminary tests, final tests, and competency tests at OrgE Collaborate with external actors Manage import permits for external dogs Supervise and follow up personnel at the dog facility at OrgE Responsible for the operation and development of the dog facility at OrgE Coordinate and plan dog service production at OrgE Examples of documentation to comply with/governing documentation within military working dog service Internal documents: Military Working Dog Regulations, Military Working Dog Testing Regulations, Military Working Dog Handbook Part 1 Training, Military Working Dog Handbook Part 2 Training, Operations Security Regulations, Handbooks for rappelling/climbing and work at heights, Local Military Working Dog Instructions. Swedish Code of Statutes Zoonoses Act, Epizootic Diseases Act, Animal Welfare Act. Medical Products Agency regulations on prescription and dispensing. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Career Officer, OF1-2/OR 6-7 Work experience within military working dog service Good knowledge of handling the Armed Forces' various IT programs Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish Experience with documentation of operations Driver's License B (manual) Personal Qualities As a person, you are solution-oriented, responsible, and have the ability to see the bigger picture. You need to be able to independently take responsibility, handle, and structure matters and tasks. You have good pedagogical abilities and help others gain the conditions to succeed.
