JOB DUTIES As a substitute teacher in Gävle Municipality, you will have a varied workplace where you work with children and young people in preschools, primary schools, and/or secondary schools. Within schools, you can work as a teacher substitute or teaching assistant. In preschools, you can work as a preschool teacher substitute, childcare assistant, or childcare provider. You are an important part of maintaining good quality in educational activities. Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that teaching, student support, and childcare can be carried out even when regular staff are absent or during periods of temporarily high workload. You respond when and where you are needed. It is flexible work and you have the opportunity to work with varying tasks at different units. Working hours as a substitute can vary from day to day as you work when the operations need you. Some weeks you may work a lot while other weeks might be less. We expect you to be available to work at least 50% of full-time. The more you can work with us, the better. Your duties include: • Support the operations when regular staff are absent and during periods of temporarily high workload • Support students and children in their learning and development • Maintain good quality in the educational activities • Follow given instructions and work according to Gävle Municipality's core values • Collaborate with colleagues in the team and take responsibility for the whole workplace QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who wants to work in Gävle Municipality's schools and preschools and contribute to a safe and quality educational activities. It is important that you have a genuine interest in children and students' education and well-being. Formal qualifications: • Teacher or preschool teacher education with certification (for work as a certified teacher or preschool teacher) • Completed and approved secondary school diploma (for work as a teacher substitute/childcare assistant/childcare provider) • Ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing We also offer work as a teaching assistant. Then you need to be able to help an individual student who needs support to benefit from the teaching. This can involve a student with reading and writing difficulties, concentration problems, psychosocial difficulties, or various types of disabilities. To succeed in the role, you are: • Collaboration-oriented and demonstrate a humble approach in your collaboration with others • Relationship-building and have the ability to create trusting relationships • Flexible with the ability to quickly understand the group's needs and today's planning and to follow given instructions • Confident in your leadership with the ability to lead and motivate children/students and contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and developmental learning environment We warmly welcome your application! As a final candidate, you must be able to provide a criminal record clearance from the police for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
