Kjula School is seeking hourly substitute teachers who are interested in stepping in when needed! Kjula School and Vallby School are two rural schools located one mile from Eskilstuna city center, in an idyllic and growing area. Both schools are part of the same principal's district. They are schools with a strong sense of community and fantastic surroundings that are integrated into teaching. The schoolyard is large and invites play and movement during breaks. Kjula School has students from preschool through grade 6, approximately 310 students, and 45 employees. Vallby School has students from preschool through grade 3, approximately 90 students, and 15 employees. Teaching takes place in age-homogeneous groups at both schools. Our professional and dedicated educators place students at the center and use many different methods to reach each student. Our goal is that all students, based on their abilities, should feel motivation, joy, and desire to learn both at school and in after-school activities. Our school, after-school activities, and student support services collaborate actively and closely, always focusing on our students receiving comprehensive development in both academic knowledge and social skills throughout the day. 6 position(s). JOB DUTIES In this role, you step in as needed. Where you step in depends on what needs exist. It could be in after-school activities or as a substitute teacher for a teacher in grades F-6. It is therefore very important that you feel comfortable teaching independently in a classroom according to a lesson plan. Sometimes a substitute assignment spans a longer period, but it can also involve individual days. As an hourly substitute teacher, it is common to be called with short notice, sometimes the evening before. You therefore need to be flexible and comfortable adapting quickly. QUALIFICATIONS You need to have completed upper secondary education. It is positive if you have an ongoing education or a degree as a preschool teacher or teacher with teacher certification for grades F-6. As an hourly substitute teacher, you need to feel comfortable teaching independently according to a lesson plan in grades F-6. It is positive if you also have experience with pedagogical work/teaching at school in grades F-6. If you have experience with students with special needs, that is beneficial. You are a confident person whose approach aligns with the school's values, where all students' equal worth is very central. You have openness in meeting children and adults from different backgrounds and circumstances. We see that you are organized in your work, but have the ability to think outside the box and see the bigger picture regarding our students. You are confident in your pedagogical leadership and have a clear focus on a values-based and relationship-building approach. Kjula School and Vallby School are located in the countryside, so you need to have a class B driver's license and access to a car. We welcome your application! Salary form: Hourly wage.
