Home care provides services and care for elderly people and people with disabilities who live in their own homes. Here you will be valued for your willingness to take on and learn new tasks and for your excellent way of treating people. Description of Work Tasks In your role, you provide services, care, and support to people who receive home care. This includes assisting with personal hygiene such as help with bathing, showering, toilet visits, dressing and undressing, and oral care, always with respect for the client's dignity and individual needs. Work tasks may also include delegated health and medical care duties, such as administering medication or wound care under the supervision of a nurse. You work independently but are part of a team with other nursing assistants and care workers in your area. You also have support from nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and planners. We have fourteen home care offices throughout central Uppsala and in rural areas. One will be your base from which you conduct your work. In your application, you can choose which area(s) you prefer to work in. You travel between homes by bicycle, e-bike, or car, depending on the area. Working hours are daytime, evenings, and weekends. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: has upper secondary education or is currently studying at upper secondary level. has experience working in a service profession, for example in restaurants, retail, customer service, or hotels. has good cycling experience and is comfortable cycling in all weather conditions, or has a category B driver's license. can independently communicate fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. This is a requirement to ensure patient safety and proper documentation at work. It is desirable if you have: training in care and social services education and/or a certified nursing assistant qualification. experience working in care and social services and with documentation in care. As a person, you are service-oriented, calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You are empathetic and can quickly understand another person's perspective or situation. The job suits you if you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and flexible way. Last but not least, you are a communicative person who listens well and adapts your communication style.
