Your New Job As a temporary care worker in elderly care, your goal is to provide safe, respectful, and quality care to our elderly citizens. You work with a focus on interaction, support in daily life, and collaboration with colleagues. In the role of temporary care worker, you primarily work with care and nursing of elderly people at either a nursing home or in home care services. You provide support in daily life, create safety, and treat each individual with respect. In addition to this, practical tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation are included, as well as accompanying people on errands and activities. You may also need to handle medications, assist with transfers, and document services in activity systems. Work tasks can vary, which makes flexibility an important part of the work. Being a temporary care worker means That you primarily work on short-term temporary assignments, from single work shifts up to 14 working days That you replace regular staff during absences That your working hours are by agreement based on the activity's needs and your preferences That you have access to a mobile phone and/or computer to actively make yourself available in our booking system. You are booked based on your availability via SMS regarding short-term temporary work, which means many contacts occur with short notice, often the same day as the need applies Your Qualifications You need to be 18 years or older No formal education or previous experience is required Swedish in speech, writing, and comprehension Computer skills for documentation For work in home care, good cycling experience and/or a class B driver's license is required, ability to drive a vehicle in all weather conditions Physical mobility and ability to handle unforeseen situations Meritorious Ongoing or completed care and nursing education or other relevant education (nursing assistant, nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, personal assistant, social worker) Previous work experience in care and nursing Personal Qualities To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to have a good ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with both colleagues and citizens. Welcome to Us The staffing unit within elderly care supports six nursing homes and six home care groups throughout Jönköping Municipality with staffing. As a temporary care worker with us, you will primarily be assigned to one activity where you will have the opportunity to learn the work and build confidence in your role. Once you have started working, there is an opportunity to work at several of the activities that the staffing unit supports. You have your unit manager at the staffing unit, while you also receive support from unit managers and colleagues in the activities where you work.
