As a substitute teacher in school, you will become an important part of our children's and young people's learning and development. You will work in our daily operations, meeting with children, parents, and colleagues when regular staff are absent. You will have the entire municipality as your workplace, which means you will get to know our different facilities and gain extensive experience in various areas. Working as a substitute teacher means being called in, sometimes with short notice, when regular staff are absent. You will communicate which days and times you are available for work through our staffing system TimePool. JOB DUTIES Primary School Our school operations begin with preschool class and extend through year nine. You can substitute in preschool class, as a classroom teacher, as a resource in class, or as a teacher for the higher grades where you teach specific subjects. Afterschool Programs Afterschool program activities take place at each school where the student already attends. The departments are usually divided by age so children can stay with their classmates. Together with other colleagues, you contribute to a stimulating and developmental afterschool program based on children's needs and interests. Adapted Primary School Adapted primary school is an alternative to regular primary school for students who are not expected to meet primary school knowledge requirements due to having an intellectual disability. As a substitute in adapted school operations, you work as support for children and young people with special needs and various types of functional variations. Education is adapted to each student's circumstances. QUALIFICATIONS To work as a substitute teacher in school operations, you need to have a passing upper secondary school diploma, alternatively training in Children and Leisure (Vux) as a childcare worker. You need to certify this by attaching your grades with your application. You need to be at least 18 years old to work as a substitute in our operations. You must speak Swedish well and communicate fluently in Swedish both spoken and written. You need to be able to get to work with short notice. It is meritorious if you have a higher ongoing or completed pedagogical education to work with children, for example as a preschool teacher, teacher, special education teacher, or afterschool pedagogue. We would like to see that you have previous experience working with children and young people. An extract from the criminal record must be provided before an employment agreement is signed.
