The Department of Culture and Recreation is one of Mjölby Municipality's six departments. With approximately 240 employees, we create opportunities for the municipality's visitors and residents to experience and participate in a diverse recreational and cultural life. We operate activities in-house and provide support to cultural and recreational activities run by volunteer associations, study organizations, and other actors. The department encompasses libraries, swimming facilities, cultural school, youth centers, and other cultural and recreational activities. The libraries in Mjölby are a dynamic workplace with 15 engaged and creative employees. Our library spaces are meeting places where everyone is welcome for cultural experiences and knowledge acquisition. Our activities are located in Mjölby, Skänninge, Mantorp, and Väderstad. We work proactively outside the library space and collaborate with various actors in diverse contexts. The libraries also offer library services to the correctional system, technical assistance, and participate in various events, such as Pride. Mjölby libraries are part of the Göta collaboration with a shared library card and library database system. Together with other municipalities, we collaborate to provide access to equivalent services for all. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking substitute staff who can assist with work at our libraries. As a substitute staff member with us, you will receive comprehensive orientation to help you feel confident in your position. The orientation includes a walkthrough of our library system, our activities, and mentoring at the relevant libraries. • Staffing the information desk. • Book shelving and general tidying of the premises. • Ensuring the library is a safe place where visitors feel comfortable. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who wants varied, fun, and creative work. We see that you have social skills and an interest in service and customer interaction. You have the ability to work with other people—listening, showing empathy and respect—and are flexible and punctual. • Completed upper secondary education. • Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. • Basic IT competence (digital tools such as mobile phones and computers, internet search engines, printing documents, etc.) to be able to assist our visitors with matters in a pedagogical manner. • You should be able to work in a team as well as independently.
