Your Tasks We are looking for hourly substitutes who want to be part of our creative and dynamic operation and who want to help create the best conditions for learning. As a substitute, you work as a resource during the school day where you provide support in the classroom or with individual students. After the school day ends, you work in the after-school program's activities alongside colleagues in the department. Through good familiarity with the school's governing documents and through clear leadership, you work toward good goal achievement for all students. You follow students' entire school day and collaborate with colleagues, guardians, and students. As part of this collaboration, the school's and after-school program's activities also work together to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You work from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction in cooperation with colleagues. Your Workplace Fridtunaskolan is located at Ebbepark in central Linköping with proximity to a fantastic outdoor environment in Vallaskogen. Our school consists of a new building and the rest is newly renovated. The school is within walking distance of a library, theater, swimming hall, and concert house. Approximately 580 students from preschool class through grade 6 attend here. Fridtunaskolan is characterized by safety, respect, and mutual trust. About You To work as a substitute with us, you need to have a high school diploma and be at least 18 years old. It is required that you have experience working in after-school programs or with children/young people. It is advantageous if you have education as a primary school teacher, after-school program teacher, teaching assistant, or preschool teacher, or are currently studying with a pedagogical focus through adult education/secondary school. It is also advantageous to have experience working in sports, crafts, or music. Further, you must have good communicative ability in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you can organize and carry out your work so that children receive support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. In your role as a substitute, you act as a good leader—you motivate, create engagement, and foster participation. You have the ability to adapt the way you convey messages based on everyone's different circumstances. You understand the importance of creating good relationships and collaborating with the contacts that appear in your professional role. In the substitute role, it is also important that you as a person are thorough, take initiative, and assume responsibility in activities and tasks in our operation. You adapt easily to new operations/work environments and group constellations. Since you are booked according to the operation's needs when regular staff are absent, it means that no two days are ever quite the same, and you therefore need to be flexible.
