Hasselbacken Chark is a prestigious meat and delicatessen shop in Stora Saluhallen in Gothenburg. The shop has been located at spot 102 since 1996, and we sell premium meat and delicatessen products to both private customers and restaurants. Craftsmanship and customer interaction are at the heart of what we do. We carefully curate our selection, know our products well, and enjoy giving customers truly good advice.
We are now seeking a part-time employee to strengthen our counter team. This is a flexible extra position, not a fixed job with a set schedule. Shifts are assigned week by week based on store needs and communicated to you in advance.
Here's what you'll do with us:
Serve customers manually at our delicatessen and specialty counter. Meet customers, answer questions, and provide advice on meat and delicatessen products. Portion and slice items to order and prepare products for display. Weigh, package, and price-label items. Handle cash register transactions. Restock and merchandise the counter so it always looks inviting. Receive deliveries and monitor the cold chain. Keep everything clean and follow our hygiene procedures.
You don't need to know everything from day one. Experience with fresh products, delicatessen, specialty foods, or food retail is certainly an advantage, but what matters most is that you're thorough, enjoy working with customers, and are willing to learn. Before your first shift, we'll go through hygiene procedures, the register, and counter routines together.
Who we're looking for:
You enjoy meeting people and like to give customers that extra touch. You're thorough, reliable, and take responsibility even when working alone in the shop. You have no problem standing the entire shift and lifting boxes weighing around 10 to 15 kilograms. You're comfortable working with raw fresh products and in cold environments. Prior experience in retail, counter work, cashier duties, or food service is a plus but not required.
Availability—this is important to us:
Our need is primarily for late afternoons and evenings late in the week—that means Thursdays and Fridays—as well as weekends. If you can work those times, you're exactly who we're looking for. We also need you during our busiest periods, including weekends and major holidays. Christmas and Easter are the busiest times of year for the shop, and it's especially valuable if you're available then. Please mention in your application which days and times work for you, and let us know your availability around holidays and special occasions.
