Description of the Employment Subject Area The subject area of this employment is human-computer interaction – an interdisciplinary subject that focuses on the development and evaluation of methods and tools for constructing computer-based artifacts that support people, organizations, and society in achieving their goals. Understanding and formulating theories about the fundamental prerequisites of the interaction process are necessary for designing successful IT systems. Artificial intelligence and interaction with advanced technology require new knowledge and emphasize the need to integrate ethical aspects in the development of computerized artifacts. Job Duties Teaching and administration. Teaching includes course responsibility and course administration. The course for which we are seeking a fixed-term lecturer is: 1MD031 Interface Programming with a User Perspective (period 2, English) Follow developments within your own subject area and societal development that are relevant to work at the university. Eligibility Requirements A degree with subject specialization from higher education in computer science, human-computer interaction, or information technology. Documented experience with full-stack development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Pedagogical skill. The pedagogical skill and subject specialization must be relevant to the employment's subject area and the work duties included in the employment. The applicant must have completed higher education pedagogical training relevant to university activities or have acquired equivalent knowledge. Documented ability to teach in English unless special circumstances apply. Personal qualities required to perform the employment well. Evaluation Criteria for Applicants Meeting the Above Eligibility Requirements When selecting among eligible applicants, particular emphasis will be placed on both documented subject specialization and pedagogical skill, with special emphasis on pedagogical skill. Subject specialization may include a completed research-level degree. In addition to academic qualifications, experience from other activities, such as technology development, may also be considered. Pedagogical skill refers to teaching and instruction qualifications. In addition to academic qualifications, teaching and instruction qualifications from other activities, such as mentoring, internal training, or mentorship programs, may be considered. In assessing pedagogical skill, pedagogical quality will be the primary consideration. Scope, including both breadth and depth, will also be given weight. When assessing pedagogical skill, particular emphasis will be placed on qualifications in programming instruction. Further, the ability to plan, initiate, lead, and develop teaching and instruction, as well as the ability to connect teaching with research within the current subject, subject didactics, and higher education pedagogy, will be given significance. The ability to interact on higher education pedagogical matters with actors within and outside the university is also part of pedagogical skill. Administrative skill is important for the employment and will be given weight. Administrative skill is demonstrated, among other things, through the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient and purpose-appropriate manner, as well as through the ability to set and meet deadlines. The skill includes overall operations planning and the ability to manage resources in a way that reflects the priorities of the operations, as well as the ability to work in a structured manner with awareness of objectives and quality. Administrative skill also includes entrepreneurship. Other Skills: Experience with study administration systems and learning platforms used at Uppsala University (e.g., Ladok and Canvas) is an important qualification for the employment and will be considered. All qualifications must be documented so that both quality and scope can be assessed.
