1 position(s). Borås District Court is seeking an acting judge (one or more positions) Duties As an acting judge, you will handle all types of cases and matters that come before the district court. Your duties will mainly consist of presiding over all kinds of hearings and meetings and, in connection with them, deciding cases and matters, as well as regular rotation work. You will have good opportunities to plan your own work time, and we place great emphasis on the work of a judge being compatible with your family and living situation in a flexible manner, for example through the possibility of working remotely to a certain extent. About Borås District Court The district court has approximately 65 employees, currently including ten regular judges and four district prosecutors. The district court handles over 5,000 cases and matters per year. Each judge is assigned to a civil cases and matters rotation. Previously, the judges themselves, with the help of the court clerk assigned to the rotation, were responsible for the preparation of civil cases and matters. However, development work is underway with expanded preparation support from the district court's preparation lawyers. Criminal cases are prepared in principle fully by the court administrators under the direction of the preparation lawyer. Simplified civil cases (FT cases) are handled by the preparation lawyers and court clerks. The district court is an open and modern workplace with skilled and dedicated employees. The district court continuously works on the quality of its operations with the aim of it being characterized by high professional quality, efficiency, good treatment, and good service. All employees are engaged in quality work. The district court operates in a digitalized manner in all cases and matters. We have now conducted our operations in a completely new courthouse. In early summer 2025, we moved into completely new, fit-for-purpose premises adapted to our operations. Borås has excellent communication options from, for example, Gothenburg with buses running every seventh minute during peak traffic.
