About the Operations
At Adapted Primary School Erikslund we welcome students in grades 1-9 from all of Borås every day. We conduct extensive collaborations with the municipality's associations and strive to give our students an enriching school experience on their own terms. Well-structured teaching and confidence in students' inherent will and ability to learn is our starting point. The school also has an after-school program/KTS for all our students.
We are now moving into Borås City's newest school. This means we are moving into brand new premises with good conditions for conducting teaching in adapted primary school. Together with your colleagues, you now have the chance to be part of building the operations so that it becomes the best.
Job Responsibilities
You will work as a textile crafts teacher and also teach some home and consumer knowledge at Adapted Primary School Erikslund where we have students in grades 1-9. At Adapted Primary School Erikslund we strive for differentiated teaching that allows all students to succeed in their learning, which requires you as a teacher to meet the students with a responsive, structured and low-affective approach.
We are looking for you who are interested in working flexibly with your colleagues and students. Working flexibly means that the group composition can change during the terms and that the students' needs are in focus and that you as a teacher adapt teaching and learning environment for the student.
To assist you there are a number of resources in the form of e.g. student assistants/support pedagogues/activation pedagogues who follow the students during the school day to support them in various activities.
As a teacher you are ultimately responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating teaching at group and individual level based on students' needs and conditions.
Together with your colleagues you drive and develop the work so that it benefits all students. You set clear goals and plan teaching systematically, in an organized and methodical way. You ensure that the work is completed, follow up on results and see documentation and assessment of students' knowledge development as a natural part of your work.
Qualifications
You who apply are a certified teacher in crafts grades 1-9, with a focus on textile.
You have knowledge and work experience in intellectual disabilities and experience with children with neuropsychiatric variations. It is a merit if you have knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). You are well acquainted with the curriculum and other governing documents.
Your approach is that children do right if they can and you adapt your manner and communication to create conditions for students to interpret different situations and contexts. As a person you are calm and meet students with a low-affective approach and encourage dialogue, participation and engagement. You also have good collaboration skills and are good at creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues and guardians.
