We want to strengthen our team with people interested in working as exam proctors. Description The Education Support Division consists of the International Affairs and Collaboration Unit, the Student Support Unit, and the Education Service Unit. The latter handles the university's admissions, degrees, academic administrative systems, and exam coordination. For the Education Service Unit, we are seeking additional exam proctors ahead of the fall semester 2026 to work on an as-needed basis during examinations. You will meet students during their exams and support their administration. You will help ensure students have a positive experience while guaranteeing that exams are conducted fairly and in accordance with applicable regulations. Job Responsibilities As an exam proctor, you have an important role. You will help ensure that exams are conducted fairly and that exam regulations are followed during the examination. The main responsibilities include maintaining order during the examination, monitoring and supervising students during the exam period. This also includes tasks such as attendance verification, admission of students, collection of completed exams, and certain administrative duties. The work also requires being well-versed in exam regulations to provide clear information and instructions to students in both Swedish and English. Exams are conducted both digitally and in paper format and take place at Karlstad University's facilities. You will be part of a team working together to provide students with a positive experience during their examinations. Who Are We Looking For? You must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous work or studies at a university or college is desirable, as is experience with tasks involving verification of information and compliance with regulations or similar work. To succeed and thrive as an exam proctor, you need sufficient knowledge and experience using computers. You should also have good proficiency in Swedish and English (both spoken and written). Interacting with students is a major part of the work, so you need strong customer service skills. To handle unforeseen situations that sometimes arise, you must be stress-resilient and solution-oriented. It is also important that you are organized, thorough, and work well in a team environment. You cannot be a student at the university and simultaneously work as an exam proctor at Karlstad University. We place great importance on personal qualities. Terms of Employment As an exam proctor at Karlstad University, you will be hired for each individual occasion and paid hourly. The number of work assignments offered varies based on needs. You will receive offers when needs arise, which varies throughout the terms. Working hours are weekdays and weekends, both daytime and evening, when exams are held. As an applicant, you are responsible for ensuring your application is complete in accordance with the announcement, that any documents in languages other than Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or English are translated, and that your qualifications are documented in a way that allows for substantive and qualitative assessment.
