The IT Department currently consists of approximately 1,400 employees who are responsible for all IT used by the authority's 40,000 employees. Our office is located in central Stockholm where we offer both flexible office space and flexible working hours. Currently, there is also the opportunity to work from home up to two days a week. We are now seeking a driven Technical Specialist for our Digital Communications team. Here, you will be a key player in designing and managing the video environments that connect 40,000 police employees across the country. Job Description: With 1,400 colleagues in IT, we deliver critical services that enable both crime prevention and crime-fighting work. We are investing heavily in modernization and are looking for someone who wants to help shape how the police will communicate tomorrow and beyond. As a technical specialist, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our video solutions—from architecture and design to operations and optimization. You will work in a complex environment where high availability and security are non-negotiable. Your main areas of responsibility: • You design, develop, and manage advanced video environments, endpoints, digital signage, and streaming services. • You act as a bridge between infrastructure teams, application developers, and the business, ensuring that technology meets user needs. • You work on requirements gathering and participate in procurement processes to secure the best possible technology solutions. • You work on documenting solutions, establishing procedures, and sharing your expertise internally. Qualifications For this role, you need: • Secondary school education in a relevant area or equivalent competence, as assessed by the Police Authority as equivalent. • Experience working with infrastructure, such as network infrastructure, server configuration, IP addressing, firewall rules, and certificate management. • You have very good Swedish and English skills, both spoken and written. • You have Swedish citizenship. • You thrive best at the intersection of deep technical expertise and strategic coordination. Meritorious: To fully succeed in this role, we would like you to also have experience with: • Large, complex IT environments with high operational reliability requirements (preferably from a government agency or other regulated operations where infrastructure is considered critical). • Experience designing, operating, and managing video environments. You have good knowledge of the Cisco ecosystem (CUCM, TMS, Expressway, CMS) or equivalent platforms. • Virtualization and management of virtual servers. Personal Qualities You are proactive and driven to move forward in your areas. When complex problems arise, you see opportunities to work methodically and gain deeper understanding and knowledge. You are flexible and naturally transition between working independently on technical deep-dives and collaborating in teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
