As a geotechnical specialist at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you will contribute to the infrastructure of the future. Work Tasks As a geotechnical specialist, you will have the opportunity to influence Trafikverket's role as an active client and its continued efforts to remain at the forefront of development and industry monitoring. This position is particularly focused on Major Projects. With us, you will have an important role as a knowledge and experience carrier for our investment projects, and you will also have the opportunity to participate in technical investigations and research and innovation projects. Your work involves close collaboration with other project team members and technical areas. Together, you work through the different phases of the project to develop the best solutions regarding technical aspects, environment, life cycle costs, and societal benefits. You are an expert within your specialist field and support projects with review of technical solutions, project monitoring, advice to project management and contractors. You are also involved in procurement and implementation of investment projects from early planning stages through construction and follow-up of specified requirements. You will also have the opportunity to work strategically with geotechnical issues and represent Trafikverket in relevant industry organizations, both nationally and internationally. You will be part of a network of approximately 50 geotechnical specialists within Trafikverket, which provides you with good opportunities for professional development. As a person, you have good communication skills and can convey your knowledge in a pedagogical manner. You are confident, unpretentious, and have strong collaboration abilities. You have good problem-solving skills and see the bigger picture from multiple perspectives such as technology, environment, law, and economics. You are motivated by active employee participation where you consciously take responsibility for your tasks while being mindful of how you are part of and contribute to the whole through collaboration with others. We are looking for someone who has a civil engineering degree in road and water or civil engineering with a focus on geotechnics, or alternatively other education combined with relevant and current experience that we consider equivalent has many years of current and relevant experience from qualified geotechnical work related to road and/or rail has experience with design and construction of road and/or rail projects has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written It is beneficial if you have geotechnical experience from more than one role, such as consultant/contractor/client role have good knowledge of current regulations within geotechnics and Swedish infrastructure have experience with temporary structures during construction phase, such as temporary support structures and setup of heavy construction equipment, etc. have experience with construction contracts (AB, ABT, and ABK) have experience working in government agencies Additional Information Please attach your CV to your application.
