Technical Project Manager in Water Treatment

Introduction
Do you want to lead technical projects that contribute to efficient and sustainable water treatment solutions? As a Technical Project Manager, you lead projects from idea and feasibility study through implementation, commissioning, and follow-up. You collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure that technology, schedule, budget, quality, and environmental requirements align.
We are looking for you who
Have good technical understanding of water treatment processes and can translate technical solutions into feasible projects. We would like to see that you have experience with or interest in:
- Mechanical, biological, and chemical treatment
- Flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, membrane technology (RO/UF/NF), ozonation, UV, and absorbents
- Sludge handling, thickening, and related processes
- Design and dimensioning of treatment technology
- Drawings, P&ID, instrumentation, and control systems such as SCADA/PLC
In the role you will
Lead and coordinate technical projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, create structure, and drive progress in collaboration with engineering, operations, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Examples of work tasks:
- Lead projects from concept to finished solution
- Responsible for planning, budgeting, schedules, and risk analysis
- Coordinate procurement and maintain contact with suppliers and contractors
- Work with contract models and agreements, for example AB/ABT
- Follow up on deliveries, costs, quality, and project goals
It is advantageous if you have
Knowledge of regulations and requirements within water treatment and environmental technology projects, including dialogue with authorities and documentation. We would like to see that you have knowledge within:
- Swedish and EU-related environmental and water legislation
- Discharge requirements, permit processes, and dialogue with authorities
- Environmental impact assessments (EIA) and documentation requirements
- Occupational health and safety requirements in technical projects
Your background
You likely have experience from the water and sanitation industry, industrial water treatment, process industry, or other environmental technology operations. Experience with installations, commissioning, process optimization, or improvement work is particularly relevant.
As a person, you are organized, communicative, and solution-oriented. You take responsibility, create clarity, and drive the work forward together with others, with the ability to balance technology, economics, environmental requirements, and operational needs. We believe you have:
- Good collaborative skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical skills and strong problem-solving focus
- Independence, responsibility, and ability to prioritize
- Ability to drive progress even in complex project environments
Qualifications
We would like to see that you have a degree in civil engineering or engineering within environmental technology, chemical engineering, biotechnology, process engineering, or another relevant technical field. Equivalent work experience can also be relevant.
- Advantageous with BAS-P/BAS-U
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- B-class driver's license is a requirement
