About the Surgical Platoon The surgical platoon is a central part of the Hospital Battalion's healthcare capability and is tasked with establishing, operating, and supporting surgical activities in field environments. The platoon contributes to ensuring that qualified surgical care can be performed close to the area of operations, which increases the possibility of saving lives and reducing the consequences of injuries and illness. Operations include planning, establishing, and operating surgical treatment sites as well as support to military operations with qualified healthcare. The unit is continuously trained and exercised to operate nationally and internationally, as well as under conditions where ordinary healthcare resources are limited or heavily stressed. Main Responsibilities As a technical officer in the surgical platoon, you are responsible for planning, leading, and developing the technical service within the platoon's operations. You are an important part of the unit's ability to maintain material availability both at the garrison and during exercises and deployments. You perform preventive and corrective maintenance primarily on medical-technical equipment, and may also support work with electrical technology, electronics, vehicles, and communications equipment. Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Good physical capacity according to the Armed Forces requirements. Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is responsible, structured, and solution-oriented. You have the ability to independently plan and manage operations while enjoying working together with others. You must be able to present information with pedagogical skill in training situations. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. MERITORIOUS Education and experience with medical-technical equipment. Experience with technical service within the Armed Forces. Focus on ground electrical and/or ground mechanical systems. Armed Forces electrical installations in the field (FMEAF) technical GK. Handling of high-power systems. Military driver's license. Driver's license class C. Forklift certification. Knowledge of using systems PRIO and LIFT.
