About the position In the Network division, we are looking for you who want to use your experience working with overhead lines to improve the overall picture. You who want to develop working methods, challenge established processes, and ensure that what we hand over is operationally reliable, maintainable, and sustainable for many years to come. Development is not something we do on the side when we have time; for us it is a prerequisite for us to succeed in building the future electricity system for an electrified Sweden. As a design engineer within Project Technology Overhead Lines, you are a central part of making our projects real from early investigations to completed facility. You work closely with the project manager and contribute with technical depth, holistic perspective, and long-term thinking in how our overhead lines are planned and designed. At the same time, you help develop how Svenska kraftnät works with overhead line design, both in projects and in operations. The role combines technology, coordination, and development with a focus on ensuring that what is put into operation functions for a long time to come. You normally work in 3-5 projects in different active phases and often in development work that interests you. In the role you will, among other things: Provide technical support in projects and act as the link between project manager, internal technology specialists (e.g., foundations, grounding, and electromagnetic fields) and external design consultants Work with technical requirement setting and review of technical documents Pre- and detailed design of measures in the transmission network, for example work with pole placement, line calculations, and foundation design Support operations with questions related to overhead line design Develop, improve, and update technical guidelines within the overhead line field Actively participate in development and management of Svenska kraftnät's design processes With us, there are good opportunities to develop, both by taking on larger and more complex assignments and by deepening your knowledge in areas that interest you particularly. The Overhead Line Project Technology section consists of three units with a total of approximately 24 people who work as technical support in projects. Together, we support the projects in matters concerning technology and design and contribute to ensuring that solutions hold all the way, from idea to operation. In addition to managing the technical guidelines for overhead line design (TR15 01 and TR15 02), we also develop new working methods, where in-house design and BIM are important parts. Further, you have: Multiple years of experience working with overhead line design on regional and/or transmission networks. Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Class B driver's license. Meritorious: Experience with pole placement in tools such as ICEtow and/or PLS-CADD. Experience with line calculations. Experience with foundation design. Knowledge of construction/materials (steel, concrete, wood, composite, etc.) and/or components (conductors, line accessories). Experience in electrical design, for example in grounding, electrical and magnetic fields (EMF), and/or induction. Experience working with models and/or drawings in CAD. Experience in establishing and/or reviewing request for proposal documents/procurement documents/bill of quantities/technical descriptions according to AMA. Experience in the role of design manager. Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering. Good to know The position is located in Stockholm/Sundbyberg, Västerås, Gothenburg, Sundsvall, Luleå, or Sollefteå. The position will be placed in the Technical Management North unit or another of the units in the Overhead Line Project Technology section.
