About the Position Would you like to work with advanced technology that is crucial for a robust and reliable electricity system? We are now seeking a specialist in measurement technology and time synchronization for the Communications and OT Services unit. In this role, you will hold a central position where you are responsible for developing, managing, and setting requirements for solutions in measurement and time synchronization. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from different business areas and external suppliers to ensure high quality and technical development in the field. The work is varied and combines strategic development work with practical fieldwork. You will work at our facilities, with suppliers, and in our laboratory environments in Sundbyberg. You will also actively contribute to developing technical guidelines and ensuring they support the organization's long-term goals and strategy. Your work will include: Developing and establishing technical requirements within measurement technology and time synchronization. Providing technical support in facility and development projects. Developing, implementing, and managing measurement and time synchronization solutions in control systems. Ensuring the quality of measured values through analysis and monitoring of measurement data and time synchronization. Performing calibration, verification, and validation of measurement and time synchronization equipment. Troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving technical problems in the field. Collaborating with project organizations, suppliers, and internal technical experts to drive development and ensure efficient solutions. You will have the opportunity to build and deepen your specialist expertise in measurement technology and time synchronization for the transmission network's control systems. The role combines technical development with practical application and encompasses everything from requirement setting and verification to troubleshooting and technical support in facility projects. You will also have good opportunities to broaden your expertise in related areas such as station communication, OT technology, networks, and control systems. The unit consists of 18 people and provides specialist expertise and technical support in station communication and measurement to projects and operations. The unit is geographically distributed and we actively use technical tools for increased collaboration and to reduce travel. The unit monitors and drives technical development within its area and participates in larger development initiatives. The area of responsibility includes station communication, IT vulnerability analyses, time synchronization, event and alarm management, IEC61850, PMU (Phasor Measurement Unit), and energy measurement. About You Required Qualifications: We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating and building good relationships both internally and externally. You work in a structured and methodical manner, have an analytical approach, and are driven to find sustainable and efficient solutions to technical challenges. Furthermore, you have a Civil Engineering degree in, for example, technical physics, electrical engineering, or energy systems. You also have experience with: Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written Strong knowledge of PTP (Precision Time Protocol) and its application in industrial systems. Understanding and knowledge of PTP standards in electricity grid environments (e.g., IEEE 1588, IEC 61850-9-3). Experience and knowledge of measurement technology at the transmission network level, including energy measurement and PMU. Understanding of the importance of time synchronization for operation and measurement data in control systems. Category B driver's license We consider it meritorious if you have experience with: Practical experience with implementation, operation, and troubleshooting of PTP in industrial environments. Experience with analysis tools and software for PTP verification and troubleshooting. Knowledge of and experience with control systems. Understanding of redundancy solutions for time synchronization and high availability.
