We are responsible for managing, monitoring and developing the city's operations based on the vision and budget decided by the City Council. We are just over 390 employees who mainly work with strategic issues of great importance to the city's operations. Welcome to us The Security Department within the City Executive Office is responsible for central leadership, coordination and development of the entire city's security and preparedness work. The importance of these issues has increased in recent years and assignments have become more numerous. The department is organized into three units. The Preparedness Unit is responsible for leading and coordinating the city's work with civil preparedness, which means developing overarching planning for Stockholm's handling of various types of crises and societal disruptions – including heightened preparedness and war. Your Role The Preparedness Unit works with complex and challenging issues in a large and changing organization. The international situation and new legislation make the assignment development-oriented. We are seeking a strategist with a focus on development and continuity management of infrastructure and technical systems within civil preparedness, such as facilities, communications, logistics and mobility. This is an outward-facing key role in the city's work to strengthen preparedness capacity and is part of a competent and engaged team. Therefore, other tasks than the primary ones may also occur. The role may include rotating on-call duty as the City Executive Office's duty official (TiB) together with other employees. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for someone who has: relevant academic qualifications for the position knowledge of and experience with coordinating work within the technical field multi-year experience working on developing similar issues in public administration knowledge of Swedish crisis preparedness and total defense very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing It is meriting if you have: knowledge of municipal operations knowledge of Stockholm's organization We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technical development and societal issues. To succeed with the assignment, you also need strong self-motivation and the ability to see operations from a holistic perspective. You are analytical, comfortable with complex issues and have a good ability to identify what is essential. You work in a structured and thorough manner, with good ability to prioritize. Since the position involves many contact points – both within the city and with external actors – you have a well-developed ability to build trustworthy relationships and collaborate in a smooth and professional way. You have experience and are comfortable speaking and presenting in both small and large settings. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and motivation for the assignment. Terms Since the position is classified as security-sensitive, it is a prerequisite that you are a Swedish citizen. We conduct a security clearance before signing an employment contract.
