About our facility for carbon capture at Värtan, where our combined heat and power plant already produces sustainable electricity and heat from by-products such as wood chips, branches, and tops from the forestry industry, we are now building a full-scale carbon capture facility to create even more climate benefit. Bio-CCS is a technology that captures biogenic carbon dioxide before it reaches the atmosphere and then stores it permanently in bedrock, creating negative emissions because the carbon dioxide is separated from the biogenic cycle. Permanent negative emissions are the tool that can be used to counteract emissions that are difficult or impossible to eliminate. It is a necessary piece of the puzzle to achieve climate goals and net-zero emissions. The facility will be able to capture up to 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year – more than all of Stockholm's road traffic emits during the same period. What can we offer you? As a mechanical technician with us at Stockholm Exergi, you will work with both preventive and corrective maintenance through our workshops. We are a close-knit team working with all types of mechanics at our process facilities, and your tasks will include repairing and maintaining everything from pumps and valves to conveyors – both older and newer models. You will also lead daily lubrication and handle work orders in our operations system. We view positively your interest in deepening knowledge in areas such as tribology and vibration measurement. The position includes on-call weeks that currently run on a rotating schedule every sixth week. This means you need to be available and able to get to the workplace quickly if needed. Our combined heat and power plants operate at full capacity year-round, but especially during peak season when it is cold, as well as during our annual maintenance shutdowns which typically occur between May and September. During these periods your role is especially important, which means we need to plan vacation and time off carefully. We want to be clear about this from the start to ensure we can maintain our high operational reliability. The position is a permanent employment and involves daytime work with placement at Hammarby Plant. Why work with me?
