Deaf and Deafblind Center Interested in an exciting position as a technician in medical device technology and hearing-related field? We offer stimulating work in hearing rehabilitation, based within the Hearing and Vision Services in Uppsala. As a technician, you will collaborate with audiologists, IT technicians, engineers, and administrators. Together, we help children, youth, and adults with hearing loss, deafblindness, and deafness live good lives. This is a full-time temporary position through June 30, 2028, with a start date to be agreed upon. Our Operations The Deaf and Deafblind Center and the Hearing Center are two of three units within the Hearing and Vision Services, which are part of the Disability Services division of Nearby Care and Health in Region Uppsala. Referrals to our units are primarily made by physicians. Our services include fitting hearing aids and other technical hearing aids, advice and support to parents, counseling support, information to preschools/schools, sign language instruction, assessment of language skills, and speech and communication coaching for parents. We offer benefits that make a difference—read about them here: regionuppsala/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/) Your Assignment You will be part of a technical team serving both patients and colleagues at the Deaf and Deafblind Center and the Hearing Center. The assignment will be varied and may change over time. As a technician here, you will meet patients of all ages, relatives, and their networks. The technician role primarily involves servicing and repairing technical aids. The work is mainly performed at our facilities but also in patients' homes or in schools/preschools. Service assignments outside the workplace are done with a company vehicle. You will have the opportunity to help develop the services and can work on various special interests. The position also includes preparing, reconditioning, procurement, product and inventory management, and registry maintenance in our assistive device system Auditbase. Administration and documentation are major parts of the work. Your Qualifications • Technical secondary education or equivalent experience • Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written • Good computer skills • Good teamwork ability and service mindset • Class B driver's license Meritorious • Experience or training in electronics service • Knowledge of audio/video technology • Experience in the hearing field We place great emphasis on personal suitability and your references will be a natural part of our selection process.
