We are looking for you to work as a personal assistant for a 55-year-old woman who uses a wheelchair and has a combined vision and hearing impairment. She lives in Karlstad with her family. Dogs are present in the home. As an assistant, you will be an important part of her daily life and contribute to creating conditions for participation and quality of life. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting her in living her life as independently and equitably as possible. The work includes everything from personal care, training, assistance with activities, etc. As an applicant for this position, you are expected to have knowledge of sign language, at least equivalent to proficiency in the manual alphabet. The workplace is in her home as well as wherever she is located. Working hours are scheduled during both daytime and evening hours, Monday through Sunday. We would appreciate it if you could also work with short notice when needed, due to illness and similar circumstances. Since you will be part of a team of personal assistants selected by and for your specific user, it is important to have good work ethic where everyone supports each other and can work with short notice when needed, due to illness and similar circumstances. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We appreciate applicants who have a flexible and independent work style and can easily adapt to new situations. You must know sign language. You must be able to take responsibility as you work based on the individual's needs. You should have good competence in documentation and maintain a professional approach. As an applicant, you should have a genuine interest and care for people. Other qualities that are valuable for this job are a good sense of humor, calmness, patience, and a sense of responsibility. You must be able to speak fluent Swedish as this is a job where good communication is very important. It is a great asset if you have experience working in personal assistance.
