By guiding employees in their work and creating engagement and participation, you are a crucial part in creating safety for placed children. Together on the family foster care unit, we contribute to a workplace characterized by engagement, responsibility, and care. Does this sound like a job for you? We welcome your application!
Your responsibilities
On the family foster care unit, we work with recruiting, investigating, and guiding emergency and family foster homes, contact families, and contact persons. We also coordinate work with placements in HVB, supported housing, and protected housing. Starting this fall, the unit will have employees working with processing parental maintenance obligations for placements.
Being a team leader means being an inspirator and ambassador for social work. You have a central role in daily operations and are responsible for leading and distributing work tasks as well as creating structure and following up on work together with employees. You will support employees by, among other things, being a sounding board in their work. Documentation is a natural and important part of the work, and as a team leader, you function as a close support in both work methods and methodological questions. You will also lead one of the unit's three teams, either alone or together with a colleague.
In your daily work, you guide in complex cases and show courage when needed to challenge or drive important matters forward. You are part of the unit's management group and work closely with other team leaders and the unit manager, as well as with other units. Together, you drive the unit's quality and development work with a focus on legal security, professionalism, and continuous improvements. An important part of the assignment is contributing to collaboration, both internally within the social services and externally with other stakeholders. You have a positive attitude toward shared responsibility for the entire administration's assignment and understand the importance of cooperating and helping when workload peaks arise.
Your competencies
We are looking for someone with a genuine commitment and driven by making a difference for children and young people in vulnerable situations. You are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You communicate clearly and have the ability to create structure, prioritize, and drive work forward. You see the big picture, create engagement and participation, and drive processes forward. The role requires that you can make well-considered assessments in complex situations while remaining flexible when conditions change. You work independently and thoroughly, have good collaboration skills, and are motivated by coaching and guiding others toward greater independence. It is important that you are aware of the unit's goals and place great emphasis on achieving them.
You have a degree in social work or another relevant higher education degree, along with courses in social work (basic 7.5 credits and advanced 7.5 credits), social law and administrative law 7.5 credits, and psychology 7.5 credits. The role requires several years of experience with authority practice and case handling within the social services' children and youth area, as well as good knowledge of legislation and documentation. Experience with foster care is a merit. It is an advantage for the position if you have leadership training and/or experience in a supervisory role.
Since travel is part of the job, a B driver's license is required.
We offer
You will meet a workplace with solid expertise in foster care and great commitment to children and young people. Here, 26 employees, 3 team leaders, and 1 unit manager work together, and our shared approach is based on trauma-informed care (TIC).
