The Technical Services Department is an enabling administration. We are a secure, safe, and value-creating resource that works proactively, efficiently, and sustainably with those who live, work, and spend time in Trelleborg Municipality. The Department's five divisions have overall responsibility for planning, managing, and developing public spaces. We maintain public areas, handle waste management and wastewater treatment, provide water supply and infrastructure, and provide internal services such as facility operations and maintenance, janitorial services, system administration, and IT support. The Workplace The City Environment Division is a division within the Technical Services Department, responsible for the operation and maintenance of streets and squares, other public areas, traffic safety issues, farmers' markets, parking enforcement, the municipality's small boat harbors, subsidies for private roads, and the municipality's street lighting. The division handles maintenance, management, and new planting of park areas, playgrounds, equipment in green spaces, and maintenance and supervision of the municipality's nature areas. West Section performs varying tasks in large-scale operation and maintenance of parks, bathing areas, streets, squares, parking areas, nature areas, bus stops, playgrounds, etc. The work includes grass cutting, pruning and care of trees, hedges and shrubs, cleaning, emptying waste bins, and other related tasks. We work to create an attractive city and constantly strive to improve and develop our areas. Our commitment and efficient operations generate value for residents in Trelleborg. We also work on further development; recently completed projects include a disc golf course and restoration of overgrown natural vegetation into recreational areas in Albäckskogen. We are now looking for a team leader who wants to lead the daily work in the municipality's park and street operations. You will be an important part of the team, where you will have significant influence over operations and how we choose to renovate and develop areas. Work Duties The team leader plays an important role in creating structure, work satisfaction, and good cooperation in the team. You distribute and follow up on daily work, ensure that employees have the right conditions to perform tasks safely and efficiently. As a team leader, it is important to be present and available to your team in daily operations. It is crucial that you build trust and work well together with the team, where you motivate and contribute to a secure, positive, and solution-oriented work environment. Your work duties include planning, distributing, and leading the team's daily work. You handle citizen inquiries and requests from other stakeholders through our case management system and take appropriate action. You are responsible for overseeing the machinery fleet, planning for service, repairs, and ongoing maintenance. You liaise with subcontractors, order materials for construction and maintenance work, prepare traffic order plans, and follow up and ensure quality of completed work. Together with the section manager, you will plan, coordinate, and follow up on projects. You will lead a team of approximately ten permanent maintenance workers, which grows to approximately 20 employees during peak season. You work closely with the section manager, who provides support in team leadership, prioritization, and activity planning. Qualifications We prefer that you have training as a landscape engineer or have other education and professional experience that we can assess as equivalent. To succeed in the role, you must have documented professional experience in green space maintenance, park operations, or similar activities. You need documented professional experience with machinery and vehicles used in park and street operations. Previous professional experience in team leadership is a requirement. You need professional experience planning, prioritizing, and following up on work within your area of responsibility and are expected to contribute to ensuring that the business's resources are used efficiently and responsibly. A Class B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is required. It is particularly important that you have good social competence, build trust, and work well with the team. This requires a solution-oriented approach, lack of ego, and good collaboration skills. The work requires the ability to take initiative, be responsible, organized, and thorough in your work. You need to be able to make decisions in daily operations while involving your team members and utilizing their experience and knowledge. You must be able to handle unforeseen events and solve problems that arise with a calm and professional approach. You are expected to be professional, service-oriented, and a good ambassador in your interactions with the public, colleagues, and external actors within Trelleborg Municipality. The work requires good physical fitness and comfort with varying work that is largely conducted outdoors. The team leader position involves considerable communication both verbally and in writing; therefore, you need good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. Other Information This position is a 6-month temporary contract with the possibility of extension. Working hours are 07:00-16:00. Work during inconvenient times may occur.
