About the Workplace
In the city, the social welfare administration is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so they can take an active part in society.
The social welfare administration is in the process of reshaping ourselves according to the new social services act, with a focus on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: authority, services and support, and housing. As a complement to our work in implementing the new social services act, a major cross-administrative initiative is also underway in the form of implementing Signs of Safety.
As we now expand our operational support and management for our case handlers in foster care, we are seeking a confident and experienced team leader.
Foster care in Helsingborg consists of 35 case handlers in various roles and functions. In addition to case handlers, there are two unit managers and two team leaders, which will now be expanded to three. Together, we work to provide placed children with the conditions for safe upbringing, personal well-being, and opportunities to develop. The focus is, and should be, on the child. We believe that a successful foster care assignment also depends on the adults around the child receiving the right support. Therefore, we strive to offer our contractors continuous supervision and high accessibility. At the same time, we actively work to strengthen and support the biological parents, as we know that good cooperation between foster families, biological networks, and social services creates the best conditions for the child.
At our foster care unit, no one stands alone. We support each other, share our knowledge, and develop together to make a real difference for some of society's most vulnerable. For us, the future of foster care is about managing the assignment we have been given at the right time, to the right extent, and with good service.
Responsibilities
As a team leader, you are responsible for leading and coordinating the daily work of child and family case handlers. You work closely with the case handlers, provide support in cases, and are involved in developing both work methods and people. Sometimes the law is in focus. Sometimes it is about structures or difficult assessments. But often it is your ability to ask the right questions—rather than having all the answers—that makes the difference. You believe that the best solutions emerge through collaboration, humility, and shared commitment.
The responsibilities may include:
Providing support and guidance to case handlers in ongoing cases
Ensuring lawful processing and documentation in accordance with applicable legislation
Introducing and supervising new employees
Participating in development and quality work
Collaborating with internal and external actors
Contributing to activity planning and follow-up together with the unit manager

Qualifications
We are looking for you who...
have a degree in social work
have at least four years of experience in government administration within child and family services, of which at least two years in foster care
have good knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act
It is a merit if you have experience as a leader, training in, for example, supervision, Signs of Safety, or BBIC.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The Authority area is making some adjustments to its existing organization that mean certain parts need to be formally decided in cooperation with the unions before the decision can be implemented.
