Folktandvården encompasses a broad range of areas of expertise. We offer both general and specialist dental care and participate in the clinical education of dentists, dental hygienists, dental nurses, and dental technicians. We are now seeking a dental care strategy officer with the position of chief dentist for Folktandvården's leadership. Folktandvården is part of the Health and Medical Care Administration and is led by the Head of Dental Care. As a dental care strategy officer and chief dentist, you will have a central and strategically important role in Folktandvården's leadership and development. You will work across the region and contribute to ensuring equitable, patient-safe, and sustainably sound dental care. You will report directly to the Head of Dental Care, with your office located in Umeå. DUTIES As a dental care strategy officer, you will drive care development and follow-up to strengthen equitable care and health in Västerbotten. You will lead and coordinate strategic development initiatives and contribute to translating goals and guidelines into practical change. Your duties include serving as operational support in specific development initiatives requiring targeted assistance in planning, resource allocation, project management, evaluation, and follow-up. The main focus is to ensure a holistic perspective in Folktandvården's prioritized development initiatives and strengthen synergies between efforts. An important task is to promote inclusion and engagement of Folktandvården's staff in significant strategic development initiatives within the organization, and to promote appropriate information, communication, and dialogue with residents and patients. As chief dentist, you hold overall odontological responsibility within Folktandvården and ensure patient safety and quality in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. You will establish, develop, and follow up clinical guidelines, care programs, and work procedures, and provide qualified support on odontological and patient safety matters. Your duties include participating in Folktandvården's management group and in odontological management and coordination forums, and representing Folktandvården on odontological matters both internally and externally. The role entails a holistic perspective where strategy, odontological quality, and operational development are interconnected. This is a combined assignment where strategy, leadership, and odontological responsibility are intertwined. You will work at a strategic level to analyze, develop, and drive issues concerning Folktandvården's mission, methods, and long-term conditions. This includes preparing decision-making materials, monitoring and interpreting national guidelines and legislation, and contributing to the development of care processes, priorities, and reimbursement models. You will also provide support to the Head of Dental Care in political dialogue and strategic advocacy initiatives at national and regional levels. Your work as a strategy officer may also include other duties within Folktandvården's leadership. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed dentist with broad clinical experience and good understanding of dental care's role within health and medical care. It is advantageous if you have postgraduate training in public dental health. You have a professional approach and take responsibility for driving issues forward with quality and a holistic perspective. You thrive with long-term work, analyzing complex issues, and translating goals, guidelines, and needs into concrete improvements. You are responsive, communicate clearly and confidently, and collaborate well with different stakeholders. You work in a structured and analytical manner and take own initiative. You have strong ability to coordinate and lead working groups and create engagement toward common goals, and you build good relationships. You express yourself very well in speech and writing.
