Public Dental Care Västerbotten offers general and specialist dental care in all specialties. We participate in clinical education of dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians, and operate a dental laboratory. We offer modern and well-equipped clinics and are at the forefront of research and development through our close collaboration with the Department of Odontology at Umeå University. Specialist dental care is primarily located at Norrlands Academic Dental Care in connection with Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå. We also have competence centers under development in Skellefteå and Lycksele. We provide specialist dental care and specialist training for dentists and maintain close collaboration with the Department of Odontology at Umeå University in basic and advanced education as well as research and development. Orofacial Medicine is a referral center for patients where dental treatment is requested as part of medical treatment and includes patients from both Region Västerbotten and other Norrland regions. Orofacial medicine encompasses prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of complex oral conditions associated with systemic diseases and/or functional impairments. For patients requiring special care, we have the ability to provide sedation and dental treatment under general anesthesia. Cariology receives referral patients from general and specialist clinics in Public Dental Care as well as from private providers. Cariology treatment at the specialist level includes cause investigation, risk assessment, diagnosis, disease treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with uncontrolled caries disease. Erosive tooth wear, enamel hypoplasias, and dry mouth are also conditions found within the cariology treatment scope. We are now seeking a dental hygienist for the Department of Orofacial Medicine and Cariology, primarily positioned in Orofacial Medicine. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a dental hygienist with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure. We seek a dental hygienist with interest primarily in medical dentistry who wants significant involvement in the daily care of our patients. You will work with patients who have complex medical needs, functional limitations, or dental anxiety. The role involves assisting with examinations and treatments (including nitrous oxide and anesthesia), collaboration with healthcare services, and care of infection-sensitive patients. The position also includes administrative tasks related to the team's patients. Work in sterile areas and reception may also occur. We use computerized scheduling and communication solutions via 1177 and Tele-Q. We work in the T4 patient record system. As a dental hygienist with us, you contribute structure and security for both patients and the team. In the department, we all help each other. QUALIFICATIONS We seek someone with a dental hygienist degree. As a person, you are flexible, work well with others, and have strong commitment and interest in quality-focused dental care for adults. You are administratively oriented, have command of the Swedish language, and express yourself well in speech and writing. Experience is an asset but not a requirement.
