Do you want to work with modern storage platforms that form the foundation for mission-critical IT services? At Trafikverket, you will develop, automate, and manage advanced storage solutions together with a dedicated specialist team. Work Tasks As a Systems Engineer in the Storage Team, you will develop, manage, and operate Trafikverket's storage platforms. You ensure that our storage solutions function reliably and meet operational needs—both in day-to-day work and long-term. The role combines operational work with development. You handle ongoing operational incidents in both software and hardware, while driving improvements and further development of our modern storage platforms with a high degree of automation. A central part of the environment is S3-based object storage—a modern and scalable technology that forms the foundation for many of today's cloud and data platforms. Work takes place both in system environments and physically in data centers in connection with installation and maintenance of storage hardware. You work closely with adjacent areas such as virtualization, backup, and servers, maintaining ongoing dialogue with internal teams and operations to understand needs and contribute technical solutions. Examples of work tasks: Develop, manage, and operate storage platforms and associated services Handle incidents and operational issues related to the storage environment Work with installation, configuration, and maintenance of storage hardware in data centers Collaborate with other technical areas such as virtualization, backup, and servers Support operations with technical questions and provide solution proposals Identify improvement areas and drive development of the storage environment The team consists of storage specialists who work closely together and maintain close collaboration with teams in virtualization, backup, and servers. We work in an agile manner and share knowledge to jointly develop both our platforms and our working methods. Qualifications You will collaborate with many different functions at Trafikverket, so we seek someone with strong collaboration skills and the ability to build trusting relationships. You have an analytical approach, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and work systematically to deliver sustainable and quality-assured solutions. You take responsibility for your tasks, drive your work forward, and enjoy contributing with initiatives that develop both technology and working methods. We seek you who have: Good knowledge of or experience with object storage and storage platforms Several years of experience with systems engineering and/or systems development in a complex enterprise environment Work experience with scripting and automation Good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written Upper secondary education in IT or equivalent knowledge acquired through education and work experience that we assess as equivalent Category B driving license It is advantageous if you have experience with: Dell storage solutions File storage (NFS, SMB) Working with storage hardware in a data center environment Automation solutions with Ansible Script development in PowerShell or Python Agile working methods Other Information On-call duty may be part of the position. Work location for this position is Borlänge, Gävle. Would you prefer to work partly remotely? In this position, there is an opportunity to work from home up to 40 percent of your work time. The employment is classified as a security position. Employment requires a satisfactory result in the security clearance, which is conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
