Do you want to work with societally critical IT infrastructure in a modern datacenter environment? We are looking for an experienced systems technician who wants to help develop, manage, and secure our central IT platforms. The role includes work with server environments, virtualization, storage, backup, container platforms, and automation in an operation where high availability and operational reliability are critical. You will become part of a team with broad expertise responsible for the operation, development, and management of Region Värmland's datacenter infrastructure. The group consists of specialists in operation and development of the datacenter environment for the region. The unit also includes other specialist groups focused on network, security, database, identity, remote access, workplace, and more. Together we are approximately 40 employees working to deliver stable, secure, and modern IT services to the region's operations. Your responsibilities As a Systems Technician Datacenter, you will work with both daily operations and long-term development of mission-critical IT infrastructure. You are responsible, together with your colleagues, for ensuring stable, secure, and efficient platforms used by the entire organization. The work includes monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, capacity planning, and technical development of our datacenter environments. You will also participate in projects, change management, and technical investigations where your specialist expertise contributes to creating sustainable and future-proof solutions. The role involves close collaboration with other specialist groups, project managers, solution architects, vendors, and business representatives. Your responsibilities include: Operation, management, and development of datacenter platforms. Operation and development of server and virtualization environments. Operation and management of storage solutions and storage networks. Responsibility for backup and disaster recovery solutions. Operation and development of Windows and Linux-based server environments. Operation, development, and troubleshooting of container platforms. Monitoring, alarm management, and advanced troubleshooting. Capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle management. Automation of recurring operational and management tasks. Participation in incident, problem, and change management. Technical requirements and vendor collaboration. Contribute specialist expertise in projects, procurements, and technical investigations. Documentation and development of work methods and procedures. Your knowledge and competencies We are looking for someone with a strong technical interest and several years of experience working in IT infrastructure and datacenter operations. You are analytical and enjoy troubleshooting and solving complex problems. You work in a structured manner, take initiative, and have the ability to prioritize when multiple activities are ongoing simultaneously. You are a team player who appreciates collaboration but also feels comfortable independently driving activities from idea to implementation. We also believe you have good communication skills and feel confident in dialogue with both vendors, colleagues, and business representatives. We see that you have these qualifications: Academic education with an IT focus or equivalent experience. Experience working in IT infrastructure or datacenter operations. Experience with virtualization environments. Experience with Windows and Linux-based server environments. Experience with storage solutions and storage networks. Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions. Experience troubleshooting in complex IT environments. Experience with scripting and automation. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Ability to undergo and pass security vetting. B-class driver's license required for the position.
