Systems Security Engineer for the Defense Industry

Popis:

Do you want to be part of developing high-tech solutions where security and reliability are central? Now you have the opportunity to step into the role of Systems Security Engineer within the defense industry – an expanding operation working with advanced and technically complex systems. In this role, you contribute to the further development of the technology behind modern missile systems and are part of the journey from early requirements to final verified delivery. You become part of a competent and technology-driven team with well-established work practices, strong knowledge exchange, and excellent opportunities for development through mentorship. The position can be based in Karlstad or Karlskoga. About the Role As a Systems Security Engineer, you are responsible for work related to system and product security in the development of advanced defense systems, with a focus on missile technology. The work spans the entire development cycle and is based on requirements from the customer, legislation, and other stakeholders. You work together with the team to develop, structure, and manage security requirements, conduct risk identification and risk analyses, and ensure that measures are documented, implemented, and followed up. The role includes participation in design work, technical analyses, testing, and verification to ensure that the systems meet all requirements from a systems security perspective. You collaborate closely with those responsible for subsystems and components and participate in cross-functional project teams with, for example, systems engineers, testing managers, and specialists in software, mechanics, electronics, and structural integrity. The work involves managing multiple parallel assignments with varying complexity, where a structured approach according to established processes is central. Upon starting, you receive a thoughtful introduction to the role and are assigned an experienced mentor to support you in both technical work and your long-term development. Your Profile We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology and who thrives in environments where complex systems, precision, and security are critical factors. You work methodically, take responsibility for your work, and have a desire to understand both details and the bigger picture. You appreciate working long-term and following a product through the entire development process – from requirements to verified solution. As a person, you are flexible, solution-focused, and work well in groups. You are comfortable asking for support and receiving feedback from more experienced colleagues. The ability to identify risks, see connections, and make well-considered technical judgments is important for success in the role. Mandatory Requirements: A degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, product development, or equivalent from a university or college of engineering At least 1 year of relevant experience in technical development with requirements management, or equivalent background through thesis work, trainee, or junior role Basic experience with, or a stated interest in, systems and/or product security Ability and interest in working through the entire development chain – from requirements to verification Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Class B driver's license Meritorious Qualifications: Experience from thesis work or projects involving systems security or product development Knowledge of security standards such as MIL-STD 882E or equivalent regulations Background from defense industry, automotive industry, or other regulated and technology-intensive operations Experience working in cross-functional and/or project-oriented teams Prior to employment, a security clearance and security interview will be conducted in accordance with applicable security regulations.
