At Berg Marin, we work to make advanced marine systems safe to use – for real. Our customers build and operate vessels where there is no pause button. It must work. And it must be safe for the people on board. Now we're looking for you – someone who wants to take on a broad technical role where you combine design understanding, blueprint reading, and practical engineering with a holistic perspective and communication skills. You enjoy understanding how things connect, thinking one step ahead, and creating alignment between customer, shipyard, and regulations. The role involves actively seeking information, asking questions, and translating between different perspectives – from practical work at the shipyard to customer requirements and technical possibilities. Responsibilities You work broadly with vessels and technical systems throughout their entire lifecycle – from design to verification. The focus is on technical understanding, drawings, and design, but you will also work with systems security as a natural part of the whole. In the role, you will, among other things: Analyze drawings and technical solutions to assess whether they are buildable, safe, and meet requirements Support projects and shipyards with technical questions and help create alignment between customer wishes and shipyard practical reality Perform analyses and investigations, primarily in Excel, and take further what needs deeper investigation Conduct systems security work and ensure that classification requirements and regulations are followed Participate in verification and acceptance testing, both on-site and remotely Catch important details in meetings – things that must not be missed – and know which questions need to be asked to get the right information A large part of the work takes place at the office where you review drawings, systems, and technical solutions and ensure everything connects. At the same time, you follow projects through their entire lifecycle and get to see how vessels are actually built – from early sketches to finished installations. This gives you a concrete understanding of how technology, use, and safety meet in reality. Our Offer With us, you work with real systems where safety and technology play a crucial role. You deepen your knowledge in design, mechanics, regulations, and analysis while being part of a smaller organization with short decision paths and great opportunity to make an impact. The work requires self-drive and initiative. You work close to operations but not always on-site, which means you need to seek information, ask questions, and drive work forward yourself. For the right person, that's exactly what makes the role both challenging and very rewarding. The role suits you if you want to combine technical understanding with a holistic perspective and if you thrive in an environment where you get to take responsibility, develop, and help shape how we move forward. You have an engineering degree or equivalent technical experience and are comfortable understanding how drawings and technical systems connect. You have good computer skills, especially in Excel, and you communicate clearly in Swedish and English. Your technical foundation means you know which questions to ask to get the right information, and you recognize when something needs clarification or further investigation. As a person, you are confident, structured, and communicative. You take in both technical details and matters related to requirements and regulations, and you can determine when a solution is reasonable, buildable, or needs rework. You can be both humble and clear – you know when to listen and when you need to take a stand. You move easily between the customer's perspective, the shipyard's practical reality, and the requirements that must be followed, and you create alignment through clear and simple communication. More About the Position and Recruitment Process The position is based in Gothenburg or Karlskrona – you indicate in your application which location interests you.
