We are now seeking you to work as a vision educator/assistive technology consultant in our vision team at the Center for Assistive Devices (CFH). You have experience working with people with visual impairments and deafblindness and have relevant higher education. Spread Communication Center is one of the units at CFH. We work as a resource for the county's prescribing occupational therapists, vision educators, and speech-language pathologists. This means we provide knowledge and support regarding assistive devices for communicative and cognitive support to residents in Örebro County. We also undertake such assignments by commission. Clients can be other municipalities and regions, companies, or authorities such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency or the Public Employment Service. We offer advice, trial use, and training in assistive devices that provide support for functional impairments in cognition, communication, mobility, vision, and hearing. We work together in teams, where we start from the individual's unique needs. Work Duties We offer you stimulating and exciting work together with engaged and competent colleagues. The work is varied and independent, which means significant personal responsibility. At CFH you also have the opportunity to influence and develop the operations. Your main work duties include conducting needs assessments, trial use, and training based on the individual's needs and conditions regarding vision adaptation in computers, smartphones, and tablets. You will work with people of all ages and with various visual impairments as well as people with deafblindness. The work duties will involve both independent work and teamwork. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is trained as a vision educator, special educator, educator, occupational therapist, or has other appropriate university/higher education. We hope you have experience in habilitation/rehabilitation of people with visual impairments. You see possibilities with technology and are an experienced computer user. You have strong pedagogical skills as you provide training both individually and in groups. You have good social competence and a professional manner since the position involves contact with many people daily, both clients and colleagues. Teamwork is important. In our work, we place great emphasis on your personal suitability where good cooperation skills are a prerequisite. As a person, you are organized, creative, and open to different solutions. You have your own drive and an ability to work independently. You are attentive, a good listener, and skilled at motivating others. You have a category B driver's license, as travel is part of the position. Application The application should include a CV and a personal letter.
