Southeastern Jämtland Parish consists of 16 congregations in Bergs, Östersund, Bräcke, and Ragunda municipalities. Our staff work where the present meets history; from the ski resort Klövsjö, the cross-country skiing gold town Åsarna, the Torvalla district in Östersund, to the area where Vildhussen once created Döda Falls. We are now seeking a curate based in Hammarstrand. Hammarstrand is a picturesque community with dramatically beautiful nature in the eastern part of Southeastern Jämtland Parish in Ragunda Municipality, positioned at a comfortable distance between coast and mountains. The Indalsälven River winds through the countryside where you as a priest can work close to both people and nature. It is a region where all seasons of life still meet in the church – where tradition, warmth, and commitment carry the ministry forward. As a curate with us, you will naturally become part of congregations with strong community spirit and great trust in the area. Here there is room for personal meetings, for conversations that take time, and for worship where presence and participation are central. You will work in an area where people know each other, where the church means much to many, and where your presence makes a real difference. The position includes traditional priestly duties: conducting services, performing church ceremonies, confirmation and youth activities. It is a requirement that you are ordained in the Church of Sweden, hold a Class B driver's license, and have access to your own vehicle. We actively work to develop the three pilgrimage routes that pass through the congregations in our parish, including Indalsleden which runs through our area. For those interested in pilgrimage work, there are good opportunities to develop the pilgrimage concept within this pastoral position. To succeed in this role, we see that you are secure in your self-image, confident in your calling, and grounded in your faith and worldview. You understand, appreciate, and value smaller communities. We expect you to be curious and willing to meet people in different life situations, that you are creative and take initiative, and that you listen well to your colleagues. We are seeking someone who builds and maintains good relationships, who can organize and set boundaries for yourself and in the ministry. We also see that you are engaged in the confirmation work team, which is a parish-wide working group. We place great importance on personal suitability.
