About the Company
GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, cabling, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division working with aircraft engine components together form Engines, and at the Trollhättan facility, advanced components for aircraft and space rocket engines are developed and manufactured. They also work with engine maintenance.
GKN Aerospace has production facilities in Trollhättan, Kongsberg (Norway), Mexico, and the USA. They also have an engineering office in Bangalore, India, and offices in Stockholm (Public Affairs) and Gothenburg. The headquarters for Engines is located in Trollhättan.
Your Responsibilities
Your tasks will include:
Develop, improve, and qualify processes through work on welding parameter development, automation of welding processes, and fixture development
Provide specialist expertise in various types of development projects
Monitor and analyze process capability
Review drawings from a production perspective
Participate in investments and implementation of new technology
Assess and review the manufacturability of products
Contribute to the development of training materials and train, instruct, and certify welding operators
Introduce new methods, equipment, instructions, and procedures within welding
Continuously improve welding processes and existing work methods

Requirements for the Position
Technical university education, production technical vocational training, or other relevant education/experience. IWE and IWS training are advantageous.
Relevant experience in welding
Analytical ability and being a good problem solver
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to work flexibly and quality-focused to find technical and sustainable solutions of high quality
Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious for the Position:
Experience with or knowledge of welding methods LBW, GTAW, EBW, PAW, and RW
Experience with and knowledge of Additive Manufacturing
Experience from production technical work
Robotics and automation knowledge
Knowledge of materials in the Aerospace industry such as titanium and superalloys
