Our partner GKN Aerospace is facing exciting challenges with next-generation space nozzles, an accelerating AM journey, and a growing share of welded products. In your role as a welding engineer, you will join a fantastic cohesive team working on several exciting projects. You will work with varying tasks, from daily production support to development of new products and technologies. Examples of work tasks: • Develop, improve, and qualify processes through work on welding parameter development, automation of welding processes, and fixture design • Provide specialist expertise in various types of development projects • Monitor and analyze process capability • Review production drawings • Participate in investments and implementation of new technology • Assess and review product manufacturability • Contribute to development of training materials and train, instruct, and certify welding operators • Introduce new methods, equipment, instructions, and procedures within welding • Continuously improve welding processes and existing work methods The assignment requires you to undergo a security interview and be approved according to current regulations. The assignment also involves requirements for certain citizenship. Who are you? We are looking for someone with technical higher education, production technical vocational training, or other relevant education or experience. You have knowledge and experience with welding methods LBW, GTAW, EBW, PAW, and RW. If you have previous experience with and knowledge of Additive Manufacturing, this is a merit. We primarily value your personality and believe you are a curious and initiative-taking person who enjoys working in a varied environment. You are committed, motivated, creative, and flexible, and you focus on seeing opportunities in the challenges your work brings. You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
