Do you want to work with metalcraft where precision, form, and quality are paramount? Rosengren & Nilsson is now seeking a skilled welder/chaser for our art foundry in Malmö. With us, you'll work on unique artworks, sculptures, and public installations. The work varies between welding, joining, straightening, grinding, and chasing – often in close collaboration with artists, project managers, and other skilled trades in production. About Us Rosengren & Nilsson Group was founded in 2021 through the merger of two well-established metal foundries: Rosengrens Metallgjuteri (founded 1909) and Vetlanda Gjuteri (founded 2001). Together we combine more than a century of craft tradition with modern expertise in metal casting. At our art foundry in Vintrie, just outside Malmö, we work with everything from artists and architects to municipalities, churches, and industrial companies. Our products include artworks, bronze and aluminum gravestones, 3D models, and 3D-engraved crystal glass. Each project is unique – and we view every product as a work of art. About the Position As a welder/chaser, you are responsible for joining and finishing cast metal parts into a high-quality end result. This means that welds and seams must be processed so they blend seamlessly into the artwork's form, structure, and expression. The work requires both strong welding technical competence and a trained eye for detail. Each project is unique and can range from small, intricate work to large sculptures and advanced constructions. Key Responsibilities Your main tasks will include: Welding and joining of cast metal parts, primarily in bronze and aluminum Chasing and processing of welds, seams, and casting surfaces Grinding, straightening, cutting, and other manual metalworking Recreating surfaces, forms, and structures after welding Repair and correction of minor casting defects Assembly and fitting of parts before final completion Quality control of your own work Working from drawings, models, and instructions Collaboration with colleagues in casting, grinding, patination, and assembly Who We're Looking For We're seeking someone who is a skilled welder with a genuine interest in metalcraft. You work carefully, have a good sense of form, and understand that the finished result is just as important as the joining process itself. You are comfortable solving practical problems and can adapt your working approach to different materials, forms, and projects. Since our work is often unique, you need to be flexible, take responsibility, and be comfortable working both independently and with others. We'd like to see that you have: Experience with TIG/MIG welding Experience welding bronze, aluminum, or other metals Good experience with grinding and manual metalworking Ability to read and understand technical drawings A careful working approach and good sense of form, surface, and detail Ability to take responsibility for your work from start to completion Good collaboration skills It's a plus if you have previous experience with chasing, art casting, sculpture making, fine metalwork, or other qualified metalcraft. Formal education is positive, but practical experience, craft skills, and the right attitude carry significant weight.
