British Schools is an established and well-respected education provider in the municipality with operations in both preschool and primary school, approximately 1,250 children and students in total, and is the largest independent school employer in Eskilstuna.
With strong results, high demand, and a clear ambition to continue developing, we are now seeking two external board members who want to contribute with experience, perspective, and strategic expertise.
This is an assignment for you who want to use your experience to make a real difference – in an operation that impacts hundreds of children, students, and families every day.
About the Assignment
The school world and British Schools face a changing world and future with several political decisions that affect operations, where questions about quality, governance, development, and environmental changes become increasingly important. The Board has a central role in supporting operations, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
We are now seeking two complementary profiles who, together with the owner, will contribute to a strong and well-balanced board to which the CEO reports.
The Board normally meets approximately four times per year, with the possibility of additional meetings as needed. Meetings take place in Eskilstuna or Stockholm.
Profile 1 – Experienced Leader from the School World
We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of the education sector and the school's mission.
Perhaps you have been:
School Principal
School Director
Administration Director
School Owner
Operations Manager in Education
You have experience working with:
Quality work and school development
Leadership in educational operations
School legislation and governance documents
Pedagogical issues and operational management
You will be an important support in matters relating to educational quality, organization, and long-term development and hopefully have an ability to see the business aspect of a private organization.
Profile 2 – Strategic Profile with Understanding of Public Sector and Social Development
We are looking for someone with experience in municipal operations, public administration, or politically governed organizations.
Perhaps you have been:
Municipal Director
Administration Director
Municipal Chief
Political Advisor
Senior Leader in the Public Sector
You have understanding of:
Municipal decision-making processes
Public governance
Regulatory matters
Stakeholder management and social impact
Strategic change work
You contribute perspective on environmental issues, social development, and the changes that affect the education sector and hopefully have the ability to see the business aspect of a private organization.
