ABOUT US
City Mission's study support aims to provide conditions for students in grades 4-6 to receive support in their schooling to achieve completed studies. Currently, we offer study support with the goal of both working with study support as its own intervention and as an entry point to strengthen the child's general living conditions outside of school.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a person for our study support at a middle school in Biskopsgården. The number of work shifts is 2 per week x 2.5 hours per occasion, Tuesdays and Thursdays during school terms and extra as needed. Work hours are scheduled on weekday afternoons between 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM depending on when children finish school (times are set before each new school year).
We are also looking for hourly employees as needed. The number of work shifts varies but is 2.5 hours per occasion, Monday-Thursday, between 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM depending on when children finish school.
As a study support assistant, you support children in their studies after school and support meaningful free time during school breaks. During school terms, there are two study support sessions per week and school where there are 2 study support assistants, volunteers, and a social worker per session. At all our study support sessions, snacks are provided. We also offer break activities for children during all holidays as well as a children's council.
WHO ARE YOU
You have secondary education qualifications and it is a merit if you have previous experience in study support.
You follow our developed study support concept and act as an exemplary representative of our organization. You are creative and work based on the resources and means available, and are passionate about creating good conditions for children in their studies.
Good knowledge of Swedish language in speech and writing is a requirement. Language skills in Arabic, Somali, and Turkish are a merit. If you also have pedagogical experience, we prioritize that highly.
You have plenty of patience and ideally a smile on your face as we meet children with different needs in our activities. We appreciate that you are good at keeping to schedules and place great emphasis on personal qualities, such as genuinely enjoying meeting children and being able to offer adequate/good study support.
