Alströmergymnasiet in Alingsås municipality is one of Western Sweden's largest upper secondary schools with approximately 1450 students distributed across 11 national programs, adapted upper secondary school, and introduction programs. The educational operations are divided into seven sectors, each with a principal as head, and together we are more than 220 employees. As a study pedagogue in the introduction programs, you will be part of a diverse team consisting of a special education coordinator, special education teacher, subject teachers, language support specialists, and study pedagogues. Together, you will be responsible for supporting our approximately 100 students within individual alternatives, language introduction, and vocational introduction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for a study pedagogue who will work full-time in our groups in the introduction programs with responsibility for both individual and group development. You will play a central role in some of our teaching groups where many of our students with special needs attend. The role includes shared mentorship with responsibility for students' safety and social development. Qualified teachers will come to the teaching groups to teach their subjects, and as a study pedagogue you will be the students' constant point of contact and an important person in the connection between school and home. You will collaborate with teaching staff in the classroom to support students in their learning and become part of the pedagogical context. The role includes, in addition to extensive work and contact with students, also regular contact with guardians. As a study pedagogue, you will be part of both the large team for the entire introduction program and a smaller work group with the teachers who instruct the students in the teaching groups to which you are assigned. The role of study pedagogue also requires close collaboration with various professions within student support services to help our students succeed in school. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with several years of experience working in teaching groups for students with special needs and good insight into the challenges that exist in such a group. You also need to have experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD). It is meritorious if you are a qualified teacher or have other pedagogical education. It is important that you have a good ability to meet students with special needs. You need to be responsive and meet students based on their conditions and create trusting and constructive relationships with students and guardians. Good collaboration skills are a basic requirement for managing the close cooperation with student support services and the teachers who instruct the groups.
