Would you like to help people find their path toward education, careers, and financial independence? Are you motivated by meeting people where your expertise makes a difference? Then you could be one of our next Career and Education Counselors!
Who are we?
The Skills Supply Office works to create conditions and opportunities for people. Regardless of activity, we have a shared mission to offer citizens the opportunity to grow and develop, where the path to financial independence should be as short as possible.
The Guidance Center is part of adult education activities. Here we work to develop and strengthen career and education counseling within municipal adult education and provide support to the municipality's residents.
Here you get to make a difference – help more Norrköping residents find the right path to education, work, and financial independence, while playing an important role in reducing the skills shortage in the municipality.
At our Guidance Center, you become part of an engaged and competent team of approximately 14 career and education counselors. We are proud to have received the highest rating in the School Inspection's quality review of career and education counseling within municipal adult education.
Our office is centrally located in Norrköping at Hospitalsgatan 20, with close proximity to most things.
We are now recruiting two career and education counselors for our team – one permanent position and one fixed-term position.
Your responsibilities
As a career and education counselor at our Guidance Center, you take on a rewarding and challenging assignment where you have the opportunity to guide and motivate individuals toward education and work.
You meet our adult students in different life situations and provide guidance and advice through personal conversations, digital meetings, phone calls, lectures, networking, and outreach initiatives.
With us, you have an important role in helping people discover their interests and full potential. You adapt your counseling strategies to the individual's needs and goals and actively work to follow up on individuals' development to ensure professional support and good service.
Each week you meet with your career and education counselor colleagues together with our admissions coordinators, where you have the opportunity to exchange experiences, drive development issues, have collegial discussions, and create a shared overall picture of Komvux Norrköping.
The permanent career and education counselor position includes two main assignments.
The first assignment involves working as a career and education counselor within in-house vocational education. In this role, you collaborate with the principal, vocational teachers, and other staff to provide students with the best possible conditions to succeed in their studies and become employable.
The second assignment involves outreach work directed at prospective students. This may include contacting people who have applied to our programs to provide guidance and support in their educational choices. In this work, collaboration with admissions and other principals is an important part.
As a fixed-term career and education counselor, your main placement is at the Guidance Center, where you primarily meet citizens through in-person counseling sessions.
Who are you?
You have a degree as a career and education counselor, and we view it positively if you have experience in career and education counseling within adult education or upper secondary school.
To thrive and succeed in the role, you are a person who motivates and inspires people to take steps toward their goals. You have a coaching approach and see individuals' strengths and possibilities, while building trust and engagement in your interactions with others.
You are comfortable with change and have the ability to explain, anchor, and create understanding when work methods or conditions change.
You see development as a natural part of work and contribute a positive and solution-oriented approach.
We also see that you work independently, take responsibility for driving your work forward, and have good judgment in determining when you need to collaborate with colleagues or ask for support.
Welcome to apply
