Youth and Adult Guidance is part of the municipality's education administration and is centrally located in Jakobsberg, close to bus and commuter train connections. The unit is responsible for young people aged 16-19 years who lack employment (KAA) and serves as the hub for the municipality's adult learners, where study and career guidance as well as admission to adult education play a central role. As an employee at Youth and Adult Guidance, you will be part of a team consisting of study and career counselors, youth coaches, archive assistants, and an assistant rector. As one of our employees working with the municipality's activity responsibility is going on parental leave, we are seeking a replacement. For this, we need you – a qualified study and career counselor who appreciates varied work and has the ability to inspire the target group in a development-oriented workplace. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS We are seeking a qualified study and career counselor with experience and commitment to young people aged 16-19. Together with youth coaches and additional study and career counselors in the unit, you participate in outreach work with the target group covered by KAA, and are responsible for mapping, study and career guidance, study planning and motivation-enhancing measures as well as collaboration with other activities and authorities. You are also responsible for administration related to the above tasks, such as various forms of registration in student databases and other student administrative systems. QUALIFICATIONS You are a qualified study and career counselor with experience working with the municipalities' activity responsibility and have good knowledge of our regional shared youth and student database, UEDB, as well as the student registration systems Alvis and Edlevo. You also have high digital and administrative competence. You have a genuine interest in the target group and an individual-centered approach, working with high awareness in your choice of conversational methods and motivational tools. It is also important that you can build good relationships with both young people and guardians. Since we work with a challenging target group where various forms of disabilities and mental health issues may be present, it is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience in this area. As a person, you are inspiring and well-organized. You are motivated by results and success, and you are self-directed and confident in yourself and in your role. You enjoy working together with others and see the value in using the entire team's expertise to achieve results and help young people move toward employment.
