Your New Job To Höglandsvux in Sävsjö we are now seeking an engaged career and educational counselor. As a career and educational counselor with us, you will meet adults in different stages of life who are in a reorientation phase. In your assignment, you are part of guiding on future career opportunities and what steps are needed to pursue a new career. You help participants, through individual counseling, to explore what they want and provide guidance on educational choices, qualifications, career changes, validation and paths forward toward work or studies. In your role you are part of a team with teachers, special educators and other staff within the school. You meet students within vocational adult education, basic adult education and SFI (Swedish for Immigrants). As a Career and Educational Counselor you work closely with external actors such as the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), Sävsjö Näringsliv (SNAB) and Sävsjö Municipality's employment unit, Jobbhuset. Together with other career and educational counselors within Höglandsvux, you contribute to the development of our guidance work and are part of performing administrative tasks related to adult education activities and within the scope of your assignment. This position also includes working 40% as a school administrator at Höglandsvux in Eksjö. This work thus provides the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of adult education activities and to combine the guidance assignment with administrative and organizational tasks. In the future, the career and educational counseling assignment may be expanded to consist of a full-time assignment distributed within Höglandsvux. About You We are looking for someone with a degree as a Career and Educational Counselor and with several years of experience working in the profession; if it is within adult education, it is a merit. You are comfortable working with digital tools and in various systems and feel confident in doing so. You master Swedish well in both speech and writing and have a B-category driver's license. You have good knowledge of educational pathways. As a person, you have a good ability to meet people based on their circumstances and are good at adapting how you communicate information and provide guidance according to the individual's needs and circumstances. You are driven to work toward goals and can revise your direction when goals change. You take initiative and have a good ability to plan, organize and prioritize your work tasks. You strive to work with colleagues and students to create a good climate and respect all students' needs and differences. About Our School Since summer 2026, Höglandsvux brings together adult education in Eksjö, Nässjö and Sävsjö under a common principal, Höglandsförbundet. Together we offer education at basic and upper secondary level, vocational education, Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) and adapted adult education. Through collaboration, we create more opportunities for our students and a stronger operation for our employees. Here different experiences meet, new paths open and the future is shaped through learning, development and skills provision. In Sävsjö, adult education shares premises with Aleholmsgymnasiet. We offer, among other things, vocational education, courses at basic and upper secondary level as well as SFI. The operation has close ties to the local business community and actively works to create good paths forward to employment and further studies. As a career and educational counselor with us, you become part of an operation in development where collaboration between locations, accessibility for students and a clear focus on the individual's path toward work or further studies are central. Good to Know The position is currently divided into 60% as a career and educational counselor at Höglandsvux Sävsjö and 40% as an administrator at Höglandsvux Eksjö. You will thus have two different workplaces, with Sävsjö being your main workplace where you will have your manager. In the future there is potential for the career and educational counselor assignment to be expanded. The position is on a permanent basis at 100%. Initial interviews are planned for week 41. To ensure that all staff in career and educational counseling have the right qualifications, we ask you to attach your diploma showing that you have a degree in career and educational counseling. As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement, in accordance with the Education Act, that you provide an excerpt from the criminal record register for work in schools. You request this register excerpt from the police website. If you are called for an interview, you will need to be able to prove your citizenship. You do this by showing a valid passport or personal certificate together with a valid ID document. A personal certificate is ordered from the Swedish Tax Agency in My Pages. If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland, you must also be able to provide a valid residence and/or work permit to work in Sweden.
