Folkuniversitetet in Uppsala operates two small-scale schools: Internationella gymnasiet and Cultus gymnasium. The schools share facilities, teachers, and school leadership and function in many ways as a single unit. Here we offer a Social Sciences Program with specializations in Behavior and Social Science. The program has an international profile where global issues and study trips are a natural part of the education. We also offer a Care and Health Program with an acute healthcare profile, which includes collaborations with emergency services and ambulance services. Folkuniversitetet is centrally located in Uppsala, near Resecentrum.
The total student population for both schools is approximately 175 students, which means there is close contact between students and staff, decision-making processes are short, and there is good collegial community at the school. Here works a cohesive teaching team, together with a student health team with all professions represented.
Folkuniversitetet is a non-profit foundation that, in addition to upper secondary education, conducts adult education and popular adult education programs. We operate in close connection with universities and higher education institutions and are independent of political, religious, and labor union interests. We are seeking an engaged, well-organized, and relationship-building colleague for a combined position as Study and Career Counselor and School Administrator. This is a substitute position at 50% during the academic year 2026/2027, due to a colleague pursuing studies. If studies continue, there is a possibility of extension in the following academic years.
Responsibilities
In this role, you combine two important functions at the school. You are responsible for study and career guidance for our upper secondary students in the vocational introduction program, year 1 and year 2, and you work simultaneously with student-related administrative tasks in collaboration with the rector and other staff.
We are looking for you who
are trained as a study and career counselor or have other relevant education and experience that the employer deems equivalent,
are careful, well-organized, and enjoy administrative tasks,
have good digital skills and find it easy to learn different administrative systems,
are communicative and have a warm and professional manner,
enjoy working independently but also closely with colleagues in a small work team.
Experience working at an upper secondary school and with student administrative systems is a merit.
