Description
Adapted primary school and upper secondary school are for students who have difficulty meeting the goals of primary and upper secondary school due to an intellectual disability or acquired brain injury.
As a career and educational counselor within adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and Lärvux, you join the school's student welfare team and work with all units within our operations conducted at three schools: Trälleborgsskolan grades 1-6, Gröndalsskolan grades 7-9, and Finnvedens gymnasium. The work also includes students studying within LärVux. The student welfare team consists of a principal, school counselor, special educator, special teacher, career and educational counselor, school nurse, and school psychologist. We work in an interprofessional manner and you are active in development work within the student welfare team.
The work is varied and you participate in student welfare meetings, organize information meetings and participate in open houses, collaborate with other schools and other career and educational counselors in both adapted school forms as well as primary school and upper secondary school, and also with external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
Your job responsibilities include: career and educational counseling in an individually tailored, systematic and long-term manner at the organizational level, individual and group career and educational counseling, support in choice and decision-making processes, administration and management of APL (workplace-based learning) linked to our students, contacts with activities and authorities related to the student's future employment, study visits, conducting guidance lessons/SYV information together with teachers, documentation and work in Prorenata, our record system, forecasts on a long and short-term basis.
Qualifications
You enjoy collaborating with colleagues and are flexible and can easily adapt to changed circumstances. You have the ability to work independently and can structure, plan and prioritize your work tasks; furthermore, you adapt your communication to both students and guardians. You are confident in and possess the knowledge required to support and guide students, both individually and in groups, in their career and educational choices based on interests/circumstances related to the labor market situation.

Requirements:
Career and educational counselor degree (180 hp)
