We are now seeking a substitute education and career counselor for primary school, Gränsälvsgymnasiet and adult education in Övertorneå municipality. The position is a substitute role for fall term 2026 including January -27.
Job responsibilities:
You will stimulate and guide our students in their choice of upper secondary education, in choices within upper secondary education, and also in their decisions regarding further higher education and future career choices. You work at organizational, group, and individual levels. You support students in handling choice situations and broadening their perspectives by challenging students in their assumptions about the future in their choice of education and profession. The job responsibilities also include organizing and planning the primary school's PRAO as well as education and career guidance within municipal adult education. Other occurring tasks may also be included in the position.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who is trained as an education and career counselor, or has other education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience in the profession is a merit. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. We see that as a person you are driven and structured and have experience planning, organizing, implementing, and following up your work. You are skilled in meeting with people, have pedagogical competence, are thorough, and are well familiar with digital tools and systems. The role requires Swedish in speech and writing as well as good knowledge of English. We are an administering municipality for Finnish and Meänkieli, and it is therefore a merit if you can one of these languages as well. To work with children in school, you must submit a criminal record excerpt before employment. You request the excerpt yourself from the police and you can find the application form at www.polisen.se. Driver's license category B is required.

Substitute position during fall term 2026 including January -27. Scope: 75-100% or by agreement. Start date: immediately or by agreement.
