The Sustainability Section works with, among other things, the university's environmental management system and strategically with sustainability at the university. The section is organizationally located within the Property and Service Unit and is situated at Rosenlundsgatan 8, Gothenburg. As a student worker with us, you will gain practical professional experience in your field of study while building contacts and developing your professional network. Work Duties We are seeking two student workers who want to be part of developing student contributions within Gothenburg University's sustainability and environmental management efforts. For example, by contributing to work on the climate action plan with the aim of reducing the university's climate impact, increasing and quality-assuring the integration of sustainable development in the university's educational programs, developing communication on sustainability issues to students, contributing sustainability expertise in procurement processes, or helping reduce the university's climate impact. The work duties will be adapted based on your qualifications and areas of specialization as well as the needs of the operations. The work will be carried out in collaboration with other staff members. We offer you a varied and challenging role that involves working with different projects and concrete tasks within various target areas. Qualifications For student workers, the Agreement on Terms for Limited-Term Employment as a Student Worker (in effect as of April 1, 2014) applies. The purpose of employment as a student worker is to create conditions for combining work and studies, where the work duties are connected to your ongoing studies. Such a connection helps provide you as a student with practical work experience, thus facilitating the transition between studies and professional life. At the same time, we as an employer also benefit from current knowledge. To be employed as a student worker, the following requirements must be met: You are pursuing full-time studies at the higher education level (Chapter 6, Section 2 of the Higher Education Ordinance) You have completed approved studies corresponding to at least 60 higher education credits You have not yet begun doctoral studies For employment as a student worker with us, it is a merit if your education has a focus on sustainable development and if you are studying at Gothenburg University. If you have experience and knowledge of working with sustainability issues or environmental management systems, either through voluntary engagement or work experience, this is a merit. The position also requires that you have good written and oral communication skills in both Swedish and English. As a person, you are creative, driven, and structured in your way of working, and you have good collaboration skills. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities. Employment The employment is a limited-term position at 20%, placed within the Property and Service Unit, Sustainability Section. The employment runs through January 15, 2027 (end of term). Start date at the beginning of the fall term, September 1, 2026, or by agreement.
