Ref: 20261514 Job Responsibilities Malmö Art is seeking two student assistants who want to work on developing an audio guide that presents Malmö residents' collection of public art. We are looking for you who are interested in public art, designed living environments, and public engagement! We are seeking two student assistants whose responsibilities will be to, in dialogue with staff at Malmö Art, create a project plan and content for an audio guide, where identifying target audiences and making Malmö's public art accessible are the focus. During the work, you will, among other things, search for and compile information about Malmö's public art through research in archives, literature, and other relevant databases and develop a selection of public art that has interesting art historical value and is an important part of the city's cultural heritage. You will produce editorial material about the selection of public art, such as texts about artists, artworks, and their history that can be used in an audio guide, and participate in follow-up and evaluation of the produced material to ensure quality and relevance. The student assistants' final product will be presented in the form of a report that will subsequently be adapted into an audio guide. As a student assistant at Malmö City, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge alongside your studies with assignments within our operations. Qualifications The student assistant program is directed at you who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and continue studying throughout the entire assignment period. We are seeking students in art history, art science, ABM (Archives, Libraries, Museums), or related fields with an interest in educational and public engagement work. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of Swedish contemporary art and art in public spaces. For the assignment, you need to master Swedish and English in speech and writing. As a person, you are creative, proactive, independent, and responsible, have a good ability to express yourself in writing, while being humble and good at collaboration. Being solution-oriented, flexible, and having strong initiative are important qualities for success in this role. About the Workplace Malmö Art is Malmö City's operation for public art. Malmö Art strives to promote the development of contemporary art and wants to help expand the concept of public art. We work closely with the city's various departments and ensure that artistic processes and designs are integrated into Malmö's planning, with the goal of carefully designing Malmö residents' public environments through high-quality art. The operation is part of the Department of Culture and Society, which has its office in modern and newly renovated premises in central Malmö on Baltzarsgatan.
