On behalf of SAAB, we are seeking strategic procurement managers for interim assignments with a long-term perspective in multiple locations. SAAB is a leader in defense and security solutions. We are looking for someone with experience working strategically from a business perspective and who thrives in the intersection between technology, business, and operational development. About the Role As a strategic procurement manager, you are responsible for creating long-term and sustainable relationships and business arrangements with the organization's suppliers, often in an international context and in a complex and technically advanced environment. You are responsible for the entire commercial process – from strategy formulation and contracting to ensuring performance – and work in close collaboration with production, development, market, and aftermarket. This requires a structured approach, the ability to lead supplier teams, and a good understanding of both business value and total cost of ownership perspective. You will, among other things: • Develop and implement procurement strategies within defined areas • Negotiate commercial terms and design supplier agreements • Lead and coordinate supplier teams in collaboration with other functions • Establish and further develop relationships with both new and existing suppliers • Overall responsibility for monitoring and analyzing supplier performance related to cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability Your Profile We are looking for someone with experience working as a strategic procurement manager, or as a project or tactical procurement manager. We want you to have the ability to apply both strategic and operational perspectives in your role. It is a merit if you have been involved in contract drafting and negotiation with international suppliers, are experienced in working with complex issues, and have a broad foundation for your analyses. We would like your working approach to be characterized by structure, energy, and initiative-taking, and for those around you to perceive you as business-minded and trustworthy. To thrive in the role of strategic procurement manager, you should be unpretentious, have strong communication skills, and enjoy working in teams. We particularly value: • Ability to understand and analyze total cost of ownership over lifecycle • Interest in technology, preferably with experience from technical projects • Good negotiation experience in complex and international environments • Experience of cross-functional collaboration in larger organizations • Ability to build good and long-term relationships Formal Requirements: • Relevant academic background • Several years of experience from business-driven roles – such as strategic procurement or purchasing • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to applicable security regulations in effect at any given time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security clearance, Swedish citizenship may be required.
